Doors: 7pm Show: 8pm
“Now it seems that all the best ones have been driven underground. If there’s a leak in the boiler room it’s the music of Jesse DeNatale, a unique and original American voice.”- Tom Waits

Jesse DeNatale is a singer-songwriter from Northern California.  He was born in San Francisco and grew up in Marin County. He has released four critically acclaimed albums: Shangri-La West (2000) Soul Parade (2006), The Wilderness (2021), and The Hands Time (2023).

In his review of The Hands of Time, legendary music executive, producer, music journalist, longtime Lou Reed publicist and Neil Young archivist, Bill Bentley writes: “There are a handful of American musicians who can be counted on to hit the bullseye every time they step before a microphone. Here is a musician who is as great as anyone making music now, and among his most devoted followers he is the first in line for handing out the finest. This is someone who doesn’t ever take for granted the power of a great song, but also isn’t afraid to take chances and swing for the areas of life that are almost un-capturable. But capture them Jesse DeNatale does, over and over, which makes The Hands of Time able to never grow old. It’s almost like it’s a new
album every time it’s listened to.”

Growing up DeNatale was inspired by the music his Mexican and Italian parents played at home, along with jazz records of the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s. He was also moved by the local musicians, Ramblin’ Jack Elliott, Van Morrison, Boz Scaggs and the Grateful Dead. The radio disc jockeys on KEWB AM and KSAN FM schooled him too. He got his first guitar when he was nine from a friend of his mother’s and he taught himself how to play. He learned piano from Willy DeVille’s pianist, Richie Colbert.

His music has been described as evocative and hopeful, a combination of poetry and storytelling. Rich with imagery, rhythm, intelligence and passion, his music remains timeless. It’s soulful accessibility is what has garnered him praise from other artists and has kept his devoted fans listening.

“One of the most distinctive singers and creative lyricists of his generation and the generations that flank him.” – Former US Poet Laureate Billy Collins

“Jesse DeNatale’s songs are not only well worth hearing, they’re well worth hearing again and again.” -Ben Fong-Torres, Former Rolling Stone Senior Editor

“He’s the Bard of Tomales Bay.” Ramblin’ Jack Elliott

Jesse DeNatale’s band includes, Tom Heyman (Go To Blazes) on Electric Guitar, Paul Olguin (Shana Morrison, Mazzy Star) on Bass, Marc Capelle (The
Red Room Orchestra, Marc and the Casuals) on keys, and the multi talented Nino Moschella (Suns of Mothers) on drums.
