At the heart of Wicked Messengers are guitarist Pat Nevins, affectionately known as Shakey Zimmerman, brings his dynamic style and heartfelt vocals, guitar and harmonica to the forefront; Jay Wilcox, known for his Garcia esqe guitar tone and vocals, contributes his exceptional prowess, vocals and harmonies; multi-instrumentalist Justin Wooster adds depth with his versatile musicianship, from drums to mandolin and vocals.
The full electric ensemble creates a rich tapestry of sound, enhanced by the driving rhythms of drums, keyboard melodies, bass lines, and the soulful twang of pedal steel guitar. For a more intimate experience, Wicked Messengers also offers a captivating acoustic trio, showcasing the intricate interplay of guitars and mandolin. Wicked Messengers made its debut on August 9, 2025 at Sweetwater Music Hall with an amazing 8 band member electric show. That show emerged from an Alcazar Theatre, Carpinteria CA Shakey Zimmerman show with the addition of guitarist Jay Wilcox resulting in an ongoing project with wide sonic reach.
