Jason Crosby and Jackson Browne were walking through a New Zealand airport when Browne turned to Crosby and inquired: “Have you ever heard of Benji Hughes?” The question prompted Crosby to download Hughes’ studio debut, ‘A Love Extreme,’ a set that ultimately changed his life.

Hughes’ 2008 LP  also became a favorite of Crosby’s collaborator and bandmate, Johnny Kimock. The added dimension of commonality propelled the pair’s shared musical interests based on a decade of past performances with Oteil and Friends, the Crosby Collective, and others. The result is Spirit Guide, a duo project from Crosby and Kimock.

Spirit Guide presents the instrumental prowess of drum and piano, allowing the pair to play off each other and add definition to their independent and shared artist profiles in a live setting while expanding its offerings in the studio with the addition of guests and friends.

Spirit Guide’s sound rings like an incantation, so let the music bewitch you.
